[holding answer 23 February 1998]: The requested information on non-residential surplus properties and land owned by my Department is in the table.

Records of the residential properties owned by the Home Office are not centralised and a list of those that are surplus could be made only at disproportionate cost. Progress in reducing the number of these is reported annually. The latest was on 20 November 1997, Official Report, column 303.
