§ Mr. BattleThe Electricity Regulator has no such power but has a duty to exercise his functions in a way which protects the interests of consumers in respect of the continuity of supply. The electricity companies do consult the emergency services and other relevant organisations, such as the media and telephone companies, regarding their joint response in an emergency.
