HC Deb 16 March 1998 vol 308 c503W
Mr. Viggers

To ask the Secretary of State for Social Security how many of the people whose entitlement to disability living allowance has been adjusted in the last year have had their entitlement adjusted(a) upwards and (b) downwards. [33387]

Mr. Denham

The administration of Disability Living Allowance is a matter for Peter Mathison, Chief Executive of the Benefits Agency. He will write to the hon. Member.

Letter from David Riggs to Mr. Peter Viggers, dated 13 March 1998: The Secretary of State for Social Security has asked Peter Mathison to reply to your recent Parliamentary Question concerning how many of the people whose entitlement to Disability Living Allowance (DLA) has been adjusted in the last year have had their entitlement adjusted (a) upwards and (b) downwards. As Mr. Mathison is away from the office on leave, I am replying. As at 30 November 1997, 196,000 DLA claims had been adjusted upwards and 28,000 DLA claims had been adjusted downwards. I hope you find the reply helpful.
