However, research undertaken for the Department by Sheffield University between 1991 and484W 1993 showed that 10 per cent. of primary and 4 per cent. of secondary age pupils in maintained schools were bullied at least once a week; and a further 27 per cent. of primary and 10 per cent. of secondary pupils were bullied at least sometimes.
