§ Mr. Straw[holding answer 3 March 1998]: Neither I nor my Ministerial colleagues have met a Treasury Minister to discuss the costs of Year 2000 compliance in my Department.
A Ministerial grozup is chaired by my right hon. Friend the Chancellor of the Duchy of Lancaster to drive action across the public and private sector. Her Majesty's Treasury are represented on this group and my hon. Friend the Member for Cardiff, South and Penarth (Mr. Michael) represents my Department.
