§ Angela EagleWater companies have a duty to supply drinking water which is wholesome and it is for each company to decide how to maintain their assets to avoid future breaches of the standards. If water fails to meet quality standards, the Drinking Water Inspectorate will take enforcement action against the company, or prosecute them for supplying water unfit for human consumption.
