All members were reappointed in January 1997 until 31 August 1998, with the exception of Mr. Snedden, who was appointed from 1 September 1997. The Firearms Consultative Committee Chairman, Lord Shrewsbury, is the 22nd Earl of Shrewsbury and Waterford, and was appointed on 11 October 1993. He has extensive experience of field sports, including hunting and shooting. He is also an experienced small bore and clay target shooter.
