Mr. Moss

To ask the Secretary of State for Health what was the grant given to the Brook Advisory Centre in 1997 by his Department; and what is the planned grant for 1998 and 1999. [32644]

Ms Jowell

In 1997–98 the Brook Advisory Centre received a core grant of £80,000 from the Department of Health under the Section 64 General Scheme (Section 64 of the Health Services and Public Health Act 1968). A project grant of £23,563 was also made under the same scheme.

Announcements about further core grants and project funding will be made in due course.
