HC Deb 30 June 1998 vol 315 cc142-3W
Mr. Livingstone

To ask the Secretary of State for the Home Department how many people aged 65 years or over are currently subject to deportation orders; and how many people aged 65 years or over have been deported or removed in each of the last three years. [46691]

Mr. Mike O'Brien

As at 29 May, there were 54 persons aged 65 years or over who had deportation orders signed against them but who had not been removed from the United Kingdom.

The available information on persons who were aged 65 years or over when they were removed, or departed voluntarily, following deportation or illegal entry action is given in the table. Comprehensive information on persons aged 65 years or over when removed under port procedures could be obtained only at disproportionate cost.
