§ Mr. Battle:The Health and Safety Executive are at present developing consultative proposals for the Radiation (Emergency Preparedness and Public Information) Regulations (REPPIR) in consultation with the Nuclear Emergency Planning Liaison Group, the Nuclear Safety Advisory Committee and the Ionising Radiations Advisory Committee. They are now expected to be published in a consultative document in Autumn 1998. The HSE are aiming for as much commonality as possible with the Proposals for Regulations implementing the Directive on the control of major accident hazards involving dangerous substances which were published as a consultative document in May 1998.
