§ Dr. HowellsFrom 1 April 1998, the Qualifications and Curriculum Authority, acting jointly with the Scottish Qualifications Authority, and in consultation with the Qualifications, Curriculum and Assessment Authority for Wales, and the Training and Education Agency for Northern Ireland, became responsible for the procurement and approval of the national occupational standards which form the basis of National Vocational Qualifications and Scottish Vocational Qualifications.
