§ Mr. BattleDounreay is a licensed nuclear site. All processes are thoroughly evaluated by the independent regulators, the Health and Safety Executive, to ensure compliance with safety standards, and the Scottish Environment Protection Agency to comply with discharge authorisations, and they report to the Scottish Office. My Department has not commissioned additional assessments by external bodies.
