§ 20. Mr. Home RobertsonTo ask the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs if he will make a statement on the arrest of indicted war crime suspects in Bosnia. [44533]
§ Mr. Tony LloydThe international community's robust approach on the war crimes issue has resulted in the arrest of half of those currently indicted for war crimes. Eight of these indictees have been detained in Bosnia by SFOR, and seven of these detentions have taken place in the British-commanded sector and involved British forces, either directly or in support.
However, the primary responsibility for bringing the remaining 31 war crimes indictees to justice lies with the Parties to Dayton themselves. We shall continue to press them to fulfil this, and all other, Dayton obligations.
