41WWithin North West Water's current Asset Management Plan 2 (AMP2), which runs for five years from March 1995, two unsatisfactory storm overflows at Strand Road, Carlisle were abandoned and replaced with one of modern design in 1997. There are currently two storm water overflows that are considered unsatisfactory: improvements to the inlet works overflow at Carlisle waste water treatment works are programmed within the remaining period of AMP2; the remaining unsatisfactory storm water overflow has been identified by the Environment Agency for inclusion within North West Water's AMP3 programme which runs for five years from March 2000. North West Water's programme under AMP3 has yet to be finalised.
