To ask the Secretary of State for Education and Employment what was the amount of the delegated schools budget spent(a) per primary pupil and (b) per secondary pupil in each local education authority area for the last 10 years for which figures are available. [44461]

The table shows, for England, the amount of the Aggregated Schools Budget per primary pupil and per secondary pupil for the financial year 1997–98, taken from the section 122 Budget Statements published by local education authorities for that year. Figures for earlier years could be provided only at disproportionate cost.
