HC Deb 09 June 1998 vol 313 c536W
Mr. Levitt

To ask the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food what assessment he has made of the impact of charging for the inspection and licensing of sheep dips on(a) sheep farmers and(b) the environment. [44442]

Angela Eagle

I have been asked to reply.

However we have recently published draft Groundwater Regulations which are designed to enhance protection of groundwater from a number of dangerous substances, including sheep dips. The outcome of public consultation, including the costs involved, is currently under consideration.
