§ Ms QuinThe Prison Service has no immediate plans to extend prisoner accommodation at these prisons. A programme of general maintenance and building repair works continues at the prisons.
The Prison Service keeps under regular review the need to house the rising prison population. The issues taken into account when determining how to meet this demand are strategic need, timing, cost and implications for the establishment concerned.
