The financial transactions of the company commenced on 1 January 1997. Responsibility for most Structural Funds programme management was delegated to the company by the Welsh Office from 1 July 1997.
The administration costs for the company from 1 January 1997 to 31 December 1997 amounted to £854,384. These costs are not directly comparable to those given for the Welsh Office as they include setting-up costs and a range of overheads not included in the Welsh Office figures.
