§ Clare ShortMy Department made representations to the European Commission regarding implementation of an Environmental Impact Assessment when notification of the new road rehabilitation programme was received last year. The EC has assured us that appropriate environmental protection measures will be clearly spelt out in the project document. The project will be considered towards the end of this year by the European Development Fund Committee on which my Department sits.
