§ Mrs. Liddell[holding answer 1 June 1998]: The Government have concentrated on a number of measures to help small businesses although no specific regulations have been removed or amended, a number of measures such as cuts in the small companies' rate of corporation tax and enhanced first year capital allowances. Future changes, such as the transfer of the Contributions Agency to the Inland Revenue from April next year, will also help to ease the burden on smaller businesses. No specific regulations have been removed or amended.
