HC Deb 01 June 1998 vol 313 cc84-5W
Mr. David Marshall

To ask the Secretary of State for Scotland if he will make it his policy to collect statistics on the number of houses below tolerable standards in each constituency in Scotland; and if he will make a statement. [43333]

Mr. Macdonald

Information on the number of houses below the tolerable standard is available nationally (from the Scottish House Condition Survey) and at local authority level (from data collected by individual local authorities). Below tolerable standard housing is one of four national housing priority categories for investment for local authorities. There are no current plans to collect this information by constituency.

Mr. David Marshall
