To ask the Secretary of State for Defence if he will list the air bases in the United Kingdom jointly used by the United Kingdom and the United States of America. [43630]

There are various facilities where use is shared to some extent between UK and US personnel, but there are currently no air bases shared by flying units of our two nations on a permanent basis. I refer my hon. Friend to the reply given to the hon. Member for Lewes (Mr. Baker) on 7 April 1998,Official Report, column 219, which details those sites made available to the United States Visiting Forces in the UK.
