To ask the Secretary of State for the Environment, Transport and the Regions (1) what percentage of public money disbursed to assist families and relatives of victims was provided(a) to individual victims and families, (b) to family support groups and (c) collectively in respect of the (i) Piper Alpha disaster, (ii) King's Cross fire, (iii) Marchioness disaster, (iv) Clapham rail crash and (v) MV Derbyshire, (first public inquiry); and by what method the allocations were determined; [42982]

(2) what provisions were made out of public funds in respect of costs to (a) commission expert evidence and (b) challenge expert evidence put by another party at the public inquiries into the (i) Piper Alpha disaster, (ii) King's Cross fire, (iii) 'Marchioness' disaster, (iv) Clapham rail crash and (v) loss of the MV 'Derbyshire' (first inquiry); what was the outturn cost to public funds of such assistance for each inquiry; and how were costs agreed, verified and disbursed.
