§ Mr. SpellarPayments by the MOD to Nirex in respect of the development of a Deep Waste depository are made centrally. They began in financial year 1994–95 and the sums paid so far are:
- FY 94–95: £5.9m
- FY 95–96: £5.3m
- FY 96–97: £4.1m
- FY 97–98: £2.7m.
I will write further to the hon. Member with information on other payments which may have been made to Nirex in respect of advice given on the packaging of waste material.
