To ask the Secretary of State for Social Security if he will make a statement on his plans to reform(a) industrial injuries benefits and (b) widow's benefits. [54900]

Modernising the Social Security system is a key priority for the Government. We are, therefore, reviewing major components of the Social Security system, in line with the principles set out in the Welfare Reform Green Paper. We will make announcements in due course.
