HC Deb 30 July 1998 vol 317 c484W
Mrs. Fyfe

To ask the Secretary of State for Scotland if he will issue guidance to local authorities on support for services provided by Women's Aid. [52794]

Mr. McLeish

[holding answer 28 July 1998]: It is for local authorities to decide whether to support such services in their area. The proposed Scottish Partnership on Domestic Violence—which will include local government representation—will be expected to recommend minimum standards of service, to be implemented as resources allow, for women experiencing domestic violence. This should help encourage consistent service delivery throughout Scotland.
