§ Ms Estelle MorrisThe removal of asbestos from school buildings is already regarded as a high priority in the allocation of capital funding for schools.
It will remain the responsibility of LEAs to determine their priorities for capital works following the Comprehensive Spending Review. The Government will continue to treat as high priority applications for funding where asbestos removal is necessary for health and safety reasons.
