§ Mr. Ron DaviesOn 3 July in response to proposals from Millennium Stadium PLC, I announced that I would be prepared to make available a grant of £3 million towards the River Walk project, which is necessary to ensure the timely operation of the stadium at full capacity for the Rugby World Cup finals next year. My Department is in discussion with the company on the detail of those proposals including the company's plans to make fresh appointments to the PLC Board. The Chairman of Millennium Stadium PLC has assured me that the construction of the new stadium will be completed on time.
