To ask the Secretary of State for the Environment, Transport and the Regions what is the number of council-owned properties in the London Borough of Wandsworth that have been empty for(a) over three months, (b) over six months and (c) over one year; and if he will make a statement. [52287]

Details of the number of vacant council dwellings on 1 April, by reason for vacancy and time vacant are collected from local authorities for the annual Housing Investment Programme exercise. Wandsworth's 1997 return reported a total of 134 dwellings vacant for over 6 weeks and up to 6 months, 46 vacant for over 6 months and up to one year and 37 vacant for over year. The data collected do not separately identify dwellings vacant for over 3 months.
