§ Mr. BoatengThe review of juvenile secure accommodation was completed at the end of March and we have decided now on a programme of further work to be undertaken. A summary has been placed in the Library. This further work will include consideration of the creation of a new mechanism to determine the volume of places provided in juvenile secure accommodation, the cost of these and the standards which apply. It is proposed that the Youth Justice Board should take on this responsibility which should help ensure the appropriate volume and geographical spread of secure places.
