European Regional Development Fund support is delivered through 7 area-based programmes in Scotland and 11 Community Initiative programmes. Successful projects range from the provision of business premises and training facilities to support to the enterprise networks and local authorities to encourage the creation, development and expansion of individual business, particularly small and medium enterprises.

§ Mr. MacdonaldPotential applicants for funding receive advice and assistance from a number of sources. That, provided as part of the administration of the programmes, includes general information about the availability of European Funds and how to apply for them, detailed information on the respective programmes, guidance on the completion of application (and claim) forms, and the opportunity to discuss proposals with Programme Executives and Secretariats responsible for programme administration and implementation.
