§ Mr. Spellar[holding answer 21 July 1998]: The programme for a Multi-Role Armoured Vehicle with a high level of mobility and protection is now known as the Armoured Battlegroup Support Vehicle programme. Studies into this requirement are in progress, looking particularly at possible commonality with the future replacement for the Warrior Infantry Fighting Vehicle, and assessing the operational effectiveness and value for money of using the same components in a number of different vehicles.
