To ask the Chancellor of the Exchequer what incentives he is assessing to stimulate investment in design, technology and innovation. [50524]

Mr. Geoffrey Robinson

The Government issued a consultative document "Innovating for the Future" on Budget Day, which sought views from business and others on ways of improving the UK record on R&D and innovation.

The Government are currently considering responses to the consultation document as part of their wider review of R&D.
