Mr. Field

I refer my hon. Friend to the written answer from my hon. Friend the Parliamentary Secretary, Office of Public Service on 20 July 1998,Official report, column 363.

The correspondence section attached to Minsters' offices, which has 14 staff, receives all correspondence and seeks advice from officials, including those in the Policy Correspondence Unit which had 38 staff at 1 June 1998. Other units and officials elsewhere in the Department also deal with correspondence as part of their normal duties.
