HC Deb 23 July 1998 vol 316 c663W
Mr. Lidington

To ask the Secretary of State for Social Security when the hon. Member for Aylesbury will receive a substantive reply from the Chief Executive of the Child Support Agency to the letter of 7 May to the Dudley CSA office about case reference 1008385662; and if she will make a statement. [50873]

Mr. Keith Bradley

The administration of the Child Support Agency is a matter for the Chief Executive, Mrs. Faith Boardman. She will write to the hon. Member.

Letter from Faith Boardman to Mr. David Lidington, dated 22 July 1998: I am replying to your Parliamentary Question to the Secretary of State for Social Security about your letter of 7th May (case reference 1008385662) to the Child Support Agency Business Unit Manager in Dudley. The Agency aim to respond to letters from Members of Parliament within 20 working days. I am afraid this did not happen in this case and I apologise for this. In this particular case, information needed to be sought from the non-resident parent's employer, and a written agreement regarding the arrears of child support maintenance needed to be obtained from the parent with care before a full response could be made. While investigations were being made the Midland Business Unit Manager sent two interim replies explaining that investigations were still being made. A full response to your letter was made on 14 July.
