§ Dr. HowellsUK Net Year is a private sector initiative developed and funded by industry. Details of the organisations involved with the initiative can be found on its website, at http://www.uknetyear.org.
The Department will publish towards the end of this year the results of a survey of ICT in provision in schools which will indicate how many schools were connected to the Internet by March 1998. Subsequent annual surveys will indicate the change in growth of schools with such connections.
