To ask the Secretary of State for Scotland what statistics his Department collates on the re-offending rates of young people who have been referred to children's panels following the reporting of an offence; and if he will make a statement. [50601]

Responsibility for collection and publication of data on the Children's hearings system lies with the Scottish Children's Reporter Administration.

The only relevant information collected relates to children referred to Reporters on offence grounds on more than one occasion, and this is not collated routinely. I have asked the Principal Reporter to write to the right hon. Gentleman with more details of this information.
