§ Ms QuinGovernors have discretion under Prison Standing Order 5 to impose closed visits on any prisoner where security or control considerations so require. The decision to impose closed visits on a prisoner is taken on the basis of information available in each case and is kept under review. Figures for the number of prisoners subject at any one time to closed visits and the number of visits held under closed conditions are not held centrally.
