§ The Prime MinisterThe Government have taken extensive steps to ensure greater openness in the EU and enhanced parliamentary scrutiny of its activities. We already announce by written parliamentary question each month the subjects expected to be discussed at forthcoming meetings of the Council of Ministers. These are available on the House of Commons website. In addition, in agreement with the European Legislation Committee, arrangements for more detailed pre-Council scrutiny have recently been established on a trial basis.
