§ Mr. Rooker[holding answer 6 July 1998]: There has been an excellent response to this initiative from all parts of the industry. Some 11,000 beef outlets in the UK have received approval for the detailed labelling information they supply. The Scheme is good news for consumers who will get better information about the beef they buy. They can now be confident that beef labelled as British will have come from animals born, raised and slaughtered in Britain.
