§ Ms RuddockRefuges are supported through a complex patchwork of funding. Most comes from Local Authorities or through the Housing Corporation. Resources may also be available from Housing Association schemes. Refuges charge rents and many women residents claim Housing Benefit.
We recognise that refuge funding is complex, and needs to be made simpler and more effective. That is why we are supporting research into their needs.
