§ Dr. David ClarkLord Neill of Bladen QC was appointed Chairman of the Committee on Standards in Public Life on 10 November 1997. He is paid a daily rate of £500. Up to the end of April 1998, Lord Neill had spent the equivalent of 44 full days working on Committee business, for which he has paid a total of £22,000.
