§ Mr. HealeyTo ask the Chancellor of the Exchequer what representations he has received, and from whom, on incorporation of the functions of the Building Society Ombudsman into the proposed new single Ombudsman scheme within the proposed Financial Services Authority. [48067]

§ Mr. HealeyTo ask the Chancellor of the Exchequer what representations he has received on extending the remit of the Building Society Ombudsman to allow him to deal with the complaints he receives connected to building society conversions. [48065]
§ Mrs. LiddellI have received a number of suggestions that the scheme be extended in this area, although the Ombudsman can already consider cases where a member of a converting society misses out on a share allocation or payment because of alleged mishandling of an account.
