§ Mr. Robin Cook[holding answer 27 January 1998]: I returned to the UK between 9 and 12 October because I had no further official business in Pakistan. During the intervening period I did 18 hours work on a large volume of official FCO papers. On Friday 18 October, I carried out a full day of engagements in my constituency, which I had not been able to visit for three weeks because I had been out of the country for much of that time on FCO business at the UN General Assembly and on the State Visit.
