§ Mr. WilsonThe residence eligibility criteria under the new student support arrangements will remain the same as under the existing schemes. The responsible award making body is determined primarily by a student's place of ordinary residence on 30 June of the year in which he or she starts the course. A period of residence wholly or mainly for the purpose of full-time education is not regarded as ordinary residence. Where a student changes to a different course of higher education during the academic year, or in the immediately following academic year, the responsibility for considering assistance for the new course remains with the original award making body.
