§ Dr. ReidAll three variants of the WE-177 bomb have been in operational service with the Royal Air Force. As the hon. Gentleman will be aware from the reply my hon. Friend the Parliamentary Under-Secretary of State for Defence gave on 31 July 1997,Official Report, column 473, the last of these bombs will shortly be withdrawn from service.
A maritime version of the Type A bomb was also in service with the Royal Navy until 1992.
