§ Mr. Nigel GriffithsThe Government plan to introduce measures to ensure that consumers who purchase their funerals in advance are adequately protected. My objective will be to ensure that there is sufficient financial provision available so these consumers get the funeral which they have paid for. I am also concerned to ensure that there should be transparency in the marketing of pre-paid funerals so that consumers are clear as to what services they are purchasing and who is responsible for providing them.
