§ Mr. BoatengA major research study of leaving care schemes was commissioned by Government following implementation of the Children Act 1989. The research was undertaken by Leeds University and published in 1995 under the title "Moving On". Copies have been placed in the Library.
660WFurther research was commissioned in 1995 from Sheffield University to study the extent to which the extended families of care leavers might offer personal support during the transition to independence. The fieldwork has been completed and the study will be published shortly under the title "Leaving Care in Partnership".
