§ Mr. BattleThe Government already have a Chief Scientific Adviser, Sir Robert May, whose responsibilities include fostering Science, Engineering and Technology throughout Whitehall. In addition, there are a number of officials and other bodies such as the Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council whose responsibilities include the provision of engineering-related advice.
