To ask the Secretary of State for Scotland if he will make a statement on the recommendations made by Sir Stewart Sutherland about improved teacher training as they relate to Scotland. [22095]

I am giving careful consideration to the recommendations relating to Scotland in Sir Stewart Sutherland's report on teacher education and training. I hope to be able to respond fully to the recommendations before the end of January.
